Barratt is a complex organisation operating in a fiercely competitive industry sector. We build intricate relationships with contractors and third party suppliers. We have a constant flow of materials to different sites. And we manage a multitude of deadlines to ensure that developments run smoothly.
Within this, Finance plays a critical role. On projects where demands can change week by week, we provide ongoing financial information which ensures that budgets, resources and materials are managed effectively. By working closely with Site Managers, we collate and present up-to-the-minute data which informs decision-making at the highest levels.
Even though our Finance teams are office-based, it is so important that we empathise with Site Managers and understand the challenges they face. An invoice quickly paid often smoothes relationships with contractors or helps materials to arrive on-site that little bit earlier. So by staying abreast of developments, by keeping pace with what is happening at an operational level, our work makes a real impact on the success of the organisation.
